01. CONCEPT & ACADEMIC DEFENSE
Visions originated as the final project for the semester-long course "Audiovisual Transformation" at VDA, mentored by Dr. Vygintas Orlovas. The project began with deep academic research into the phenomenon of Synesthesia- the perceptual crossover where auditory stimuli trigger vivid, structured visual experiences.
After defending the theoretical paper on synesthetic perception, the decision was made to bring the theory into physical. A live 15-minute audiovisual performance set designed to submerge the audience into an immersive, multi-sensory environment.
02. SPATIAL & AUDIovisual ARCHITECTURE
To realize the performance, ZOLAK was chosen as the venue due to its clear walls, full blackout curtains, controlled smoke systems, specialized lighting setup, and high-fidelity sound system. The space accommodates around 40 audience members in an intimate, focused setup.
The musical composition was structured into three distinct movements, each seamlessly, conceptually merging into the next to form a singular narrative arc. Carefully edited visuals were mapped to track synesthetic shifts across frequency, light intensity, overall energy, and vocal manipulation.
FR3AK FLAG JAM SESSIONS
RECURRING WEEKLY EVENTFollowing the success of Visions, ZENIT and the ZOLAK team established a weekly recurring artistic residency. Every Thursday, we host open improvised jam sessions for sound, visual, and performance experimentalists.
